Product description

Dorothy thinks she is lost forever when a terrifying tornado crashes through Kansas, whisking her and her dog, Toto, into the magical land of Oz. To get home, Dorothy needs the help of the mysterious Wizard of Oz, so she follows the yellow brick road to Emerald City to find him. On the way she meets lots of strange companions – the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion. But it’s not long before all of them are embarking on a strange and enchanting adventure… A handsome new Puffin edition of the classic American fantasy, introduced by favourite author Cornelia Funke.

I loved this book when I was little and I have to read it again soon!! When I was 9 I dressed up as Dorothy at school for world book day and after that I knew I had to read the book, not just see the film!! The book is vey heart-warming but dramatic at the same time. It leaves you constantly at the edge of your seat, this made me read it in 2 days! This book was my first classic book that I read and it defiantly wasn’t my last! This book introduced me to many other classics like wuthering heights, Jane eyre and little women which are inspiring books (I would recommend these books as well!). I would recommend this book to anyone between the age of 9-100!!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Xx

I read this when I was about 6. It made me cry at the end, and I have loved it ever since. At Brownies, on my 9th birthday, I was voted for playing Dorothy in the play we were doing. I learnt her words off by heart and the play was a success. I had to keep nudging the others to go out and perform. I was quite silly in the auditions, though…
