The perfect pick for imaginative readers who love to be held spellbound. From intrigue in the glittering city of Vienna to danger in a tiny mountain kingdom threatened by the Nazis, these sumptuous adventures are truly timeless classics. The great and sadly missed Eva Ibbotson, who died late last year, was one of the best-loved children’s authors ever. This pair of gems shows you exactly why. Brimming with unbridled imagination and richly-woven ingredients, they’re stories which always seem to deliver just what you’re looking for, whether that’s high adventure, sweeping fantasy, gentle comedy or just a good old-fashioned happy ending! I think it is amazing how Eva manages to capture a reader in such a way. The book is fascinating, and I believe it should be a best-seller! It is now one of my favourite books and I enjoy reading all of Eva Ibbotson's titles! You should try them too!
