Our Blue book band pack is perfect for children with a reading age of 5-6.5.

Each reader is carefully levelled to build children’s reading confidence through the gentle introduction of new words, characters and themes. Blue level readers focus on:

• Introducing more complex consonant blends – sw,sl,sm and increased use of common word endings – -ed,-ing,er.
• Increased use of short and long sentences and the introduction of paragraphs.
• Meaningful illustrations to support the story
• Strong narratives covering animals, community, family situations and real-life experiences
• Repetition of up to 160 high frequency words
• Average word count of 200 words per reader
