All the stars in the world!!

If I were to review this gem of a book in just a few words, I would say: It's the definition of feminism and probably the best retelling to ever exist.

I have only ever read one feminist retelling in the past and although it was beautifully written and the feminism was aptly executed, something was lacking in the story. That book was 'The Surface Breaks' by Louise O'Neill and I found a lack of connection with the characters in the story, which dulled the entire impact of that book on me.

However, this was not the case with this novel, thankfully. Sophie was a highly understandable character and the fact that she had many flaws made her more realistic and connectable. Her character growth was apparent towards the end of the novel and to be honest, I never thought I would enjoy this book as much as I did.

I had assignments to do and exams to study for, but I managed to squeeze 5 mins here and 10 mins there just to be reunited with the wonderful characters in the story. I can clearly see myself re-reading this book in the near future!
